Elections 2022 Series Part 5

Lula is returned to the presidency in Brazil

Lula is returned to the presidency in Brazil, a country that ended slavery a generation after the US and is home to more people of African ancestry than any country save Nigeria. A former lathe operator, Lula, who is white, threw a few crumbs at the country’s black favelas but that was enough to earn the wrath of the white ruling class, who jailed him on trumped-up corruption charges. The question is whether Lula has learned his lesson and will now, like Hugo Chavez in Venezuela when that country’s black population rescued him from a coup orchestrated by the elites, RUN towards Brazil’s blacks.
